Invalidation lines that survive the first headline
Writing invalidation in advance is easy. Keeping it readable after the headline prints is the real skill.
A useful pre-event journal entry states three numbers: entry zone, size, and the price (or condition) that ends the idea. Soft phrases — “if it feels wrong,” “if volume dies” — rarely survive the first headline.
Prefer conditions you can check without a debate: a level, a time stop, or a maximum number of re-entries. During a Pre-Event Briefing, we often rewrite one fuzzy sentence into a checkbox. That rewrite is dull. It is also what makes the post-event debrief possible.
